Summary: In the future, almost all devices are expected to be connected to the network with the advancement of Information Communication Technology (ICT). This Recommendation proposes a new cable system that provides both power supply and communication functions using a pair of twisted pair cables, instead of using separate cable systems for power supply and communication, based on the perspectives of resource conservation, waste reduction, and effective use of resources. The Recommendation proposes the effects of resource saving, waste reduction, and effective utilization, as well as a calculation method for these effects, based on the new cable system. In this Recommendation, the maximum power supply capacity per cable is limited to 90 W in order to achieve energy conservation in conjunction with resource conservation as a requirement for this new cable system, which can also provide an innovative new eco-system that saves energy as well as resources.
