Summary:

IoT is already having a significant impact on the smart building sector. With the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) into the field of building energy management system (BEMS), opportunities have emerged to enhance energy efficiency and reduce capital expenditures in buildings. Consequently, implementation and assessment of IoT infrastructure in BEMS has become crucial.
Therefore, this contribution proposes a new work item, “Assessment framework of IoT infrastructure in building energy management system”. This document provides an assessment framework and assessment factors for the IoT infrastructure of BEMS, taking into consideration an IoT reference model, with the aim of enhancing implementation efficiency for stakeholders.
