Summary:
|
As the foundation of smart sustainable cities (SSC), industry has become a critical element in SSCs. With the advancements in information technology, industrial digital twins are driving industrial innovation. The industrial digital twin is the real-time connection and interaction between industrial digital models and industrial assets, such as products, production facilities, transport vehicles, etc. Thus, the industrial digital model is an abstract representation of real industrial assets, which is the foundation of the industrial digital twin. At present, the digital model in industry is widely used for the simulation, analysis and optimization of industrial products. As the digital representation of industrial knowledge mechanisms, they reflect the structure, knowledge and spatio-temporal characteristics of industrial products. Therefore, the quality of digital models of industrial products is essential for the promotion of industrial development, and helps in the construction and management of SSC.
This draft new Recommendation comprehensively evaluates the quality of industrial digital models from three aspects:the digital model construction quality, the digital model application quality and the digital models cost-effectiveness. It aims to provide all relevant stakeholders with a practical assessment tool that gives general guidance for accurately assessing the quality of digital models in industry to help improve industrial product quality.
