Subject/title: Timing characteristics of partial timing support telecom boundary clocks and telecom time slave clocks for use with partial timing support from the network - Amendment 2
Status: [Carried to next study period]
Approval process: AAP
Type of work item: Recommendation

Supporting members: Huawei, Microchip, Ericsson, Calnex, Ciena
Summary: This Recommendation specifies minimum requirements for time and phase synchronization equipment used in synchronization network that operates in the assisted partial timing support (APTS) and partial timing support (PTS) architectures. The APTS and PTS architectures are defined in [ITU-T G.8271], [ITU-T G.8271.2] and [ITU-T G.8275]. The applicable profile is defined in [ITU T G.8275.2], which specifies unicast PTS/APTS time and/or phase synchronization distribution for packet based networks. The Amendment will address new requirements. Depending on contributions, it may address the following topics that are open items in the living list: -New Appendix with clarification on the performance requirements specified for G.8273.4 -Higher performance clock -Noise generation under variable temperature -Transient response in switching between PTP and 1PPS -Interworking function between full time support and partial time support
