Summary: The new Recommendation ITU-T J.299 (ex J.acs-stb) describes the functional requirements for Auto Configuration Server (ACS) and STB connected each other for remote maintenance purpose. ACS is usually used to remotely set up and maintain customer premises equipment (CPE) such as STB. The major purpose of the new Recommendation is to specify basic requirements for remote maintenance in the cable TV system.
