Summary: [updated 2014-06] Vehicle Gateway Platform (VGP) is the collection of ICT hardware and software in a vehicle operating as an open platform to provide an integrated runtime environment for delivering the communications services of a VG. It may also provide higher layer communications services such as interaction with the driver through the Driver-Vehicle Interface (DVI services), Situational Awareness Management (SAM services), and vehicle data abstraction. This work item will make further study of the high-level architecture, service requirements and Use Cases of a VGP. The final objective of the study of the high-level architecture is to standardize the VGP layer functional model. Service requirements are to standardize the functions of subsystems in VGP. Use Cases are to standardize the main use cases of VGP. Specifically, the following aspects will be developed: - Use Cases of VGP - High Level architecture of a VGP - Services requirements of a VGP o Vehicle Gateway communications services o Vehicle data abstraction services of a VGP o Driver-Vehicle Interface services of a VGP o Situational Awareness Management Services of a VGP
