Summary:

This document will give first description of existing power distribution in Telecom/ICT sites and migration to up to 400VDC issues.
Then it describes solutions for progressive migration of telecom/ICT sites to up to 400VDC distribution and direct use of up to 400VDC powering at equipment level from up to 400VDC sources. It includes
- hybrid architecture with up to 400VDC/48V conversion close to existing 48V equipment using existing 48V room distribution and ability to clear fuse fault without 48V batteries.
- solution to produce AC (inverters) as an alternative to UPS to power existing AC equipment. - modular and flexible solution to swap from 48V or AC to up to 400VDC.
- 400VDC power transfer between existing 48V centralized source to high power density equipment such as terarouter to save a lot of copper and reduce cable volume having a easier connection
It will also give details on:
- some basic requirement for safety, acceptation from operational staff thatwill work in migration environment in the Telecom/ICT sites.
- and informative best practices for safe, reliable, efficient, easy to implement and make scalable but also to reuse the migration equipment (400/48 and 400/AC)when ICT equipment in 48V and AC are replaced by up to 400VDC ones. Acceptability of working staff operating existing equipment in 48V and AC is also a major point that will be covered.
