Summary: This work item deals with the development of guidelines related to the target 3.3. on GHG emissions of the Connect 2020 agenda. The target 3.3. indicates that the Greenhouse Gases Emissions (GHG) generated by the telecommunication/ICT sector are to be decreased per device by 30% by 2020 The guidelines may include : - the investigation of existing Recommendations or other standards, and Recommendations or other standards under developments dealing with the definition of metrics related to GHG emissions in the ICT sector - the investigation of related standardization gaps - the investigation of metrics that could be interesting for the ICT sector Members in order to follow their own progress towards the Target 3.3. of the Connect 2020 agenda. Such metrics may include metrics on different levels such as : o metrics related to the GHG emissions of an ICT network or a sub-network o metrics related GHG emission mitigation brought by ICT services o N.B : these metrics are not intended to perform comparisons between products, networks, services or organisations - for telecom operators, the selection of a metrics assessing GHG emissions at a company level relatively to the number of customers or to the type of customer usages available - the potential data collection by ITU on GHG Emissions - the dialogue and information exchange with initiatives such as "Science Based Targets"
