Open data in Smart Cities is a key factor for the development of Smart Cities, and will play an important role in the near future. However, it is still in the very beginning phase, and few study items have been made on this topic. Therefore, further studies on the Framework of Open Data in Smart Cities are needed.
This Recommendation provides a framework of Open Data in Smart Cities. It clarifies the concept and types of Open Data in Smart Cities, analyses the relationship between Open Data and Smart Cities, identifies the requirements of Open Data in Smart Cities and describes the functional architecture for Open Data in Smart Cities. The use cases are also provided in an informative appendix.
