ITU-T G.7401/Y.1303建议书的此修正案是在将客户机数据帧映射至GFP-F时增加了源适配流程应能容纳的MTU容量。过去将MTU的容量定为1600八比特组是基于对IEEE 802.3以太网帧最大MTU容量的预测。在新的802.3标准中，电气和电子工程师协会（IEEE）已将MTU增加至2000字节。为支持新的802.3 MTU，本修正案将GFP-F MTU增加至2000八比特组。
