En esta Recomendación | Norma Internacional se describe un lenguaje de definición de interfaz (IDL[COMP/GG1], interface definition languaje) para las especificaciones que están en conformidad con el lenguaje informático definido en la arquitectura del modelo de referencia del procesamiento distribuido abierto (ODP) (véase la Rec. UIT-T X.903 | ISO/CEI 10746-3). El IDL permite describir las interfaces de objeto, junto con sus operaciones y parámetros conexos.
