En la Recomendación UIT-T G.994.1 se presenta un mecanismo flexible para que los transceptores de línea digital de abonado (DSL) intercambien capacidades y seleccionen un modo operativo común. Incluye parámetros relativos a las necesidades del servicio y de aplicación, así como parámetros pertinentes a distintos transceptores DSL. Actualmente, esta Recomendación forma parte integrante del procedimiento de implementación de las Recomendaciones UIT-T G.991.2, UIT-T G.992.1, UIT-T G.992.2, UIT-T G.992.3, UIT-T G.992.4, UIT-T G.992.5, UIT-T G.993.1, UIT-T G.993.2, UIT-T G.993.5, UIT-T G.9701, UIT-T G.9702 y UIT-T G.9711. Cabe prever que las futuras Recomendaciones sobre la DSL utilizarán esta Recomendación. Se incluyen asimismo disposiciones para el intercambio de información no normalizada. La Enmienda 1 incluye el siguiente material nuevo:
– añadir puntos código para el soporte de la Recomendación G.fastback.
