En la Enmienda 1 a la Recomendación UIT-T G.7041/Y.1303 (2011) se especifica la secuencia primitiva no operativa (NOS) como señal de sustitución preferida para la conexión por conjuntos de códigos de instrucción de un solo byte/conexión de sistemas empresariales (SBCON/ESCON) y las señales de canal de fibra en el mapeado de redes ópticas de transporte (OTN). Los equipos heredados podrán seguir utilizando las señales de sustitución descritas originalmente en esta Recomendación.
