توصِّف التوصية ITU-T G.8121/Y.1381 المكونات الوظيفية والمنهجية التي ينبغي استعمالها لتوصيف الخواص الوظيفية لشبكة طبقة تبديل الوسم متعدد البروتوكولات - الخواص الوظيفية لشبكة طبقة ملف تعريف النقل (MPLS-TP) لعناصر الشبكة؛ وهي لا توصِّف فرادى تجهيزات شبكة MPLS-TP في حد ذاتها.التعديل 2:‒يوصِّف إشارات معلومات الإدارة للإبلاغ عن حالة عمليات الحماية الخطية والحلقية إلى وظائف إدارة المعدات في الفقرة 1.9.‒ويضيف اختصار ناقص لبروتوكول نقل الوسائط (MTp) ويحدِّث بعض المراجع.
