توصِّف التوصية ITU-T G.999.1 سطحاً بينياً من نقطة إلى نقطة بين أحد أجهزة الطبقة LINK، مثل معالج الشبكة وجهاز الطبقة PHY لدعم عدة خطوط DSL، مثل VDSL2 وADSL2 وSHDSL. وتضيف هذه المراجعة دعماً للسطوح البينية المادية LINK/PHY 2,5 Gbit/s وGbit/s 10.
