يضيف التعديل 3 على التوصية ITU-T G.7041/Y.1303 (2011) أوصافاً لأنماط وتقابل الحمولة النافعة المرتبطة بتغليف إجراء الترتيل التنوعي (GFP) لنمطين من رسائل المزامنة. النمط الأول هو رسالة بروتوكول مزامنة الدقة (PTP) التي تستعمل لتوفير التزامن من حيث الزمن والطور. والنمط الثاني هو رسالة حالة التزامن (SSM) التي توفر معلومات عن جودة مصدر الميقاتية المستخدمة في مصدر الرسالة SSM.
