Practical Information

Venue

The Assembly will be held in the Dubai Convention Centre, Dubai, 20-29 November 2012. The opening meeting will take place on Tuesday, 20 November 2012, at 1100 hours and will be preceded, at 0930 hours, by a meeting of heads of delegation. Meeting rooms will be indicated at the entrance of the Convention Centre.

Registration

A common and unique registration for GSS-12, WTSA-12 and WCIT-12 (World Conference on International Telecommunications, 3-14 December 2012) is now open to designated focal points and can be accessed here (designated focal point username and password required).

If you are not a designated focal point, you must register via your designated focal point, click here to access full list of designated focal points (TIES password required).

Opening hours of GSS, WTSA-12 and WCIT-12 Registration Desk:
17 and 18 November 2012: 10:00-12:00 & 16:00-18:00
19 November to 14 December 2012: 08:30-12:30 & 14:00-18:00 (closed Saturdays and Sundays).

Fellowships

Either one full or two partial fellowships per eligible Member State will be awarded based on available funding to facilitate participation from Least Developed Countries, or Low Income Developing Countries with per capita GDP not exceeding USD 2.000. An application must be authorized by the relevant Administration of the ITU Member State. The fellowship request form enclosed in TSB Circular 252 as Annex 4, should be returned to ITU not later than 15 October 2012.

Visas

Every foreign national travelling to UAE must be in possession of a valid passport. For any inquires about Hotel Bookings or visas please email info@pearlofarabia.com or visit: http://www.wtsa.ae/. Participants requiring a visa must submit the request and official documents via: http://pcoconnect.com, preferably four weeks, but not less than three weeks, prior to travelling to UAE.

Meeting Room Management & Reservations

Meeting rooms within the Assembly premises at Dubai World Trade Centre will be managed by the ITU Secretariat. Participants wishing to reserve a room are requested to complete a Room Reservation Form. Requests will be processed on a first come first served basis.

During the Assembly, the Room Reservation Service will be located at DWTC, Office 23. For any further information, please contact wtsa12-roomreservations@itu.int.

Social Events

In order to register for a social event, please fill in the "Social Event Form" and return to the ITU Protocol Office: protocol_service@itu.int
