The proliferation of radiocommunication stations in urban and rural environments has raised public concerns regarding human exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF). This session will address the importance of developing policies and standards for EMF management and thus, the need for international coordination in this area.

There is much public concern about the issues surrounding the effects of electromagnetic fields on health. This session will act as a platform of discussion presenting some experiences from other Latin American countries and will identify some possible follow up actions to be undertaken in the Dominican Republic.
