The “ITU Regional Strategy Workshop on Child Online Protection (COP) for the Arab Region: Empowering the future digital citizens”, is planned to take place in Cairo, Egypt, during the period from 25 to 26 October 2015. The workshop is hosted by and organized with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt (MCIT) and under the auspices of the League of Arab States (LAS).
This workshop seeks to build a coherent COP strategy framework for the Arab region that copes with the international perspectives. It provides a platform to share information on existing activities within the Arab countries and define a way forward to consolidate the activities towards a regional framework for cooperation (Pan- Arab Network). In addition, the workshop helps regional stakeholders to further discuss the risks and points of weakness, and evaluate appropriate tools and approaches to promote growth of a safe and responsible young population online.
تنظم ورشة العمل الإقليمية حول "استراتيجية حماية الأطفال على الانترنت: تمكين مواطني المستقبل الرقميين" والمزمع عقدها في القاهرة، مصر، خلال الفترة من 25-26 أكتوبر 2015، باستضافة كريمة من وبالتعاون مع وزارة الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات في مصر وتحت رعاية جامعة الدول العربية.
تسعى هذه الورشة إلى بناء إطار متسق لاستراتيجية حماية الأطفال على الانترنت للمنطقة العربية والتي تتواءم مع وجهات النظر الدولية. كما توفر منصة لتبادل المعلومات حول الأنشطة الموجودة في الدول العربية المتعلقة بهذا الموضوع وتحديد كيفية المضي قدماً من أجل توطيد هذه الأنشطة باتجاه انشاء إطار إقليمي للتعاون (شبكة عربية). بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تساعد الورشة أصحاب المصلحة الإقليميين لمواصلة مناقشة المخاطر ونقاط الضعف، وتقييم الأدوات المناسبة والأساليب لتعزيز نمو شباب آمن ومسؤول على الانترنت.
