Girls in ICT

2016年国际信息通信年轻女性日活动

Malta IT Agency (MITA)

St Venera, Malta, 2016, April 28

On the 28th April 2016, MITA delivered on a full programme of activities aimed at young women between the ages of 11 and 13 years. In total 70 girls had the opportunity to participate in this exciting programme. During the morning session, students from St Joseph, Paola and St Monica, Birkirkara attended the event whilst in the afternoon session, girls from various schools attended on their own time. The afternoon session was also open to parents so that they too could learn more about career opportunities in the ICT field.

These young women had the opportunity to interact with ICT professionals from MITA, where they were exposed to what it means to work within the ICT environment.  The students also received some tips on a number of study programmes which are available in the ICT field from members of the ICTSA.

Participants had the opportunity to visit the Data Centre including the Service Call Centre.

Finally the participants had the opportunity to carry out a hands-on activity. Participants chose to either code with robotics or develop cool digital games.
