Terms and Conditions for the ITU160 Genders Champion initiative

  • ITU160 Gender Champions initiative is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (“ITU” organizer) and the support Government of Canada. By submitting your application form for participation in this initiative, you accept the present terms and conditions.
  • You hereby warrant that all information submitted is true, complete, and up-to-date. You represent that you are at least 18 years of age and maximum 25 years of age at the time of submitting your application form for participation in the initiative.
  • You represent that you are not related to any of the members of the initiative’s selection committee, and that neither you nor any members of your family (up to the third degree) are employed by the organizer. The organizer reserves the right to verify your eligibility for participation in the initiative as well as the accuracy of your submitted information.
  • The organizer reserves the right to in its sole discretion to disqualify you if it reasonably considers that the information you have provided and/or your submissions do not comply with the terms, instructions and guidelines provided in the initiative website the application form, as well as the present terms and conditions. By way of example, submissions which are not in English or which the organizer deem to be off topic or otherwise not in accordance with the nature of the initiative or the mission of the co-organizers are subject to disqualification.
  • The selection of the nine ITU160 Gender Champions will be made by a selection committee and communicated via email and published on the initiative website.
  • The nine ITU160 Gender Champions will be required to attend the WSIS+20 High Level Event and 2025 AI for Good Summit from 07 to 11 July 2025. In this context, the organizer will provide the nine Champions with (i) a round-trip economy flight ticket to/from the location, (ii) health and accident insurance coverage and (iii) accommodation and per diem subsistence allowance for the duration of the stay.
  • Notwithstanding the previous section, the selected nine ITU160 Gender Champions shall be responsible for defraying all other costs and expenses arising from or relating to their participation in the WSIS+20 High Level Event and 2025 AI for Good Summit, including any travel or accommodation costs not covered by the reward mentioned in the previous section. Moreover, the selected nine ITU160 Gender Champions are solely responsible for meeting all necessary visa requirements and having all necessary travel documentation in order prior to travel.
  • No substitution or transfer of the above-mentioned reward by the nine ITU160 Gender Champions is permitted.
  • You permit the organizer to use your name, likeness, video and/or photograph in connection with the initiative, in any media, worldwide, at no remuneration.
  • You understand and agree that the organizer may create content based on your participation in the initiative and your submission, such as blog posts, photos or social media postings which may be published on the organizer websites and other communication channels and made available to the public, at the organizer’s discretion.
  • You are not allowed to use the organizer emblem or the logos of any organizer events without the prior written permission of the organizer.
  • All submissions must not: a. violate the intellectual property rights of third parties; b. be illegal under applicable national laws and international law; c. depict or incite hatred, defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten a specific person or social group, incite violence or conflict or otherwise violate the legal rights of third parties (including those of privacy and publicity) and d. violate the terms of use of any social media service, website, mobile application or any other platform used in connection with your submission. You agree to release and hold harmless the organizer from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liability arising out of or relating to your participation in the Competition and the content of your submissions.
  • You acknowledge and agree that your participation in the initiative is free of charge but does not entail any right to compensation of any kind or to reimbursement of any expenses incurred from such participation.
  • The organizer is not responsible for any lost, late, corrupted, mutilated or misdirected submissions, or submissions not received within the established deadlines.
  • You acknowledge and agree that the organizer is entitled to modify the content of the initiative and/or the present terms and conditions and to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the initiative (in whole, or in part) without any obligation, by notifying you via an announcement at the initiative website.
  • The organizer reserves the right to make all final decisions regarding the initiative. Nothing herein shall be considered to be a limitation or a waiver of the privileges and immunities of the organizer, which are specifically reserved.
