Building the AI future for all

Our flagship AI for Good Global Summit highlighted responsible, human-centred artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, while leaders in the field advanced cooperation on AI governance, skills, and standards. A message from His Holiness Pope Leo XIV reinforced the need for AI that serves humanity.

Our ministerial-level AI Governance Dialogue defined practical priorities for responsible, accessible, transparent and accountable AI. Our new AI Standards Exchange Database, unveiled with our World Standards Cooperation partners on the summit’s closing day, promises to enhance collaboration on interoperable and trustworthy technical frameworks. And a new ITU report considered how to measure what matters to determine AI’s overall environmental impact.

In parallel, the WSIS+20 High-Level Event compiled input from stakeholders worldwide on the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) process, reaffirming WSIS as a vital platform for people-centred digital development ahead of the 20-year review by the United Nations General Assembly in December.

As the UN held its 3rd UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, a special ITU Facts and Figures edition offered targeted insights for advancing digital transformation in some of the world’s most resource-limited economies.

Our 2nd Giga Connectivity Forum brought together partners and decision-makers on school connectivity.
