Since its launch in 2021, the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) has revolutionized the proof of life process of its retirees and beneficiaries with a Digital Identity solution, the Digital Certificate of Entitlement (DCE). This innovative solution leverages cutting-edge technologies including blockchain, AI, biometrics and geolocalization to provide a secure, efficient, and user-friendly way to verify life status, ensuring continuous benefit payments, solving the issues related to a legacy paper-based and postal mailing certification, which were prone to inefficiencies and potential fraud.

Based on the successful experience and technology used for the UNJSPF DCE, the UN Digital ID is a universal, easy-to-use system-wide digital identity solution for all United Nations staff, from onboarding to retirement, which aims to reduce data fragmentation and duplication.

This booth, managed by UNJSPF and UNICC staff, will showcase the DCE and UN Digital ID, where eligible UNJSPF participants and beneficiaries will have a chance to enroll on their respective apps.
