Chair Designate
The WSIS+20 High-Level Event 2025, co-hosted by the International Telecommunication Union and the Swiss Confederation, serves as a pivotal platform for reviewing the progress, achievements, challenges, and opportunities arising from the WSIS follow-up process since the inception of the Geneva Plan of Action in 2003. The WSIS+20 High-Level Event 2025 will take place from 7 to 11 July 2025, at Palexpo in Geneva with enhanced remote participation.
The WSIS+20 High-Level Event 2025 Leaders TalkX sessions will gather High-ranking officials of the WSIS Stakeholder community, representing the Government, Private Sector, Civil Society, Academia, Technical Community and International Organizations. The Leaders TalkX sessions will be moderated by High-Level Track Facilitators (HLTF) nominated and identified by WSIS Stakeholders. The main task of the HLTF will be to capture the vision, identify emerging trends, opportunities and challenges shared by the leaders of their session.
On Monday, July 7, the appointment of the Chair for the WSIS+20 High-Level Event 2025 will take place. A publication titled "WSIS+20 High-Level Event 2025: Outcomes and Executive Brief" will be issued to summarize the multistakeholder discussions and outcomes of the event.
