IGF Secretariat
Session 349
The session will allow participants to look into the innovative ideas, trends and highlights of the 20th Internet Governance Forum (IGF), which was held in Lillestrøm, Norway on 23-27 June 2025, under the overarching theme: “Building Digital Governance Together”.
Right after the annual meeting, IGF representatives will share key specific outcomes from IGF 2025:
Host Country (Norway) representatives together with UN DESA, the IGF Secretariat, IGF Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group (MAG), IGF Leadership Panel and Dynamic Coalitions will provide an overview of IGF 2025.
It will be highlighted how IGF 2025 addressed the main digital challenges around dedicated themes: [Building] Digital Trust and Resilience, [Building] Sustainable and Responsible Innovation, [Building] Universal Access and Digital Rights, [Building] Digital Cooperation and connections to the ongoing discussions on GDC and WSIS processes.
Next steps will be presented on how to be meaningfully engaged and participate at the forthcoming events for stakeholders of the IGF’s outreach and intersessional activities, including capacity development activities and policy work open to all.
As IGF promotes an open, inclusive Internet, and trustworthy, secure and rights-respecting digital technologies, the session will feature interventions from panelists who will also provide insights on IGF work in the context of the GDC and WSIS implementation.
