United Nations Industrial Development Organization

Session 311

Thursday, 10 July 2025 14:00–14:45 (UTC+02:00) Physical (on-site) and Virtual (remote) participation Room F, Palexpo Interactive Session

This side event will spotlight innovative solutions at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and industry that advance inclusivity in the digital economy, aligning with Outcome 2 of the Global Digital Compact. Leading experts and innovators will present AI-driven, scalable solutions that foster equitable participation—particularly for MSMEs—in smart manufacturing and the broader Industry 4.0 landscape.

While digital tools and AI have driven productivity and new economic opportunities, MSMEs often struggle to keep pace. Despite progress in ICT adoption, rapid AI advancements risk deepening the digital divide. To counter this, the session will emphasize inclusive, public-private collaboration models that empower MSMEs and support circular economy pathways.

Objectives:

  • Showcase effective, inclusive digital economy solutions.
  • Identify and promote scalable, affordable AI applications aligned with Outcome 2 of the Global Digital Compact.
  • Share actionable strategies to enable broader MSME participation in global digital value chains.

Format:
The event will feature rapid-fire AI solution pitches from panelists, addressing key challenges and demonstrating how inclusive innovation can bridge the digital divide and drive global benefits.
