The session will introduce the UNJSPF digital identity solution, a safe, responsible, and effective blockchain and biometric-based solution providing proof of identity/identification, existence, transaction and location for over 70,000 UNJSPF beneficiaries.
C1: The role of public governance authorities and all stakeholders in the promotion of ICTs for development: The UNJSPF digital identity solution presented during the session enhances public governance by introducing a secure digital solution, promoting efficiency, and reducing bureaucratic processes.
C6: Enabling environment: By offering a secure, accessible, and user-friendly digital platform, the initiative contributes to creating an enabling environment for the effective use of ICTs.
C7: ICT applications: The UNJSPF digital identity solution and its spinoff, the UN Digital ID, represent innovative ICT applications, streamlining processes for UNJSPF participants, retirees and beneficiaries.
C10: Ethical dimensions of the Information Society: The initiative embeds ethical considerations, ensuring privacy and security through technologies like artificial blockchain, artificial intelligence, biometrics and facial recognition.

SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being: By enabling retirees/beneficiaries to submit their proof-of-existence online, the initiative supports health and well-being, crucial during times of global health crises (i.e., COVID-19 pandemic).
SDG 9 - Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: The solution exemplifies innovation in the pension sector, leveraging blockchain and cutting-edge technologies to enhance infrastructure and services.
SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities: The UNJSPF digital identity solution ensures inclusivity, reducing inequalities by providing a universally accessible and user-friendly solution for retirees/beneficiaries worldwide to submit their proof-of-life and therefore continue to receive their benefits.
