Posted - 26 Aug 2020 : 13:14:38 Dear EGTI Members,
We are extremely delighted to share the news that the revised ITU Handbook for the Collection of Administrative Data on Telecommunications/ICT has been published.
This 2020 edition is the outcome of a collaborative effort, and reflects the EGTI work over the past years looking carefully at defining and refining Telecommunications/ICT indicators that can allow to benchmark progress over time and across countries. A big Thank You for all those who contributed to its release!
This is the latest revision of the Handbook which in fact originally dates back to 1994, and covers all changes since the last edition of 2011, and includes over 90 indicators. We trust that it will continue to serve as a key reference document for the collection of internationally comparable indicators on telecommunications/ICT based on administrative sources (i.e. supply-side data mainly from operators).
The Handbook will be presented during EGTI 2020, but You are all very welcome to download a copy for your reference, and it should serve as a useful guide already for the upcoming 2020 WTI Long Questionnaire.
Alongside the Handbook, the ITU Manual for Measuring ICT Access and Use by Households and Individuals has also been published, which focuses on demand-side indicators, mainly collected by national statistical offices.
