AI for Good Innovate for Impact
• Digital Promise: US based NGO. Support for CIENA solution in Student AI use in PBL
• TechSoup: Technical support partners for digital applications and access training tools
• SEB: Secondary education Board of Nigeria
• UBEB: Universal Educational Board of Nigeria
• NITDA: National Information Technological Agencies of Nigeria-NDLF
• Community Youth Volunteers: Local facilitation and student engagement
22 Benefits of use case
This has supported the learning and digital inclusion of girls in supporting cognitive use of AI
tools to drive literacy and fluency skills in different digital applications for educational learning
and digital inclusion, which provides quality education for learners especially in underserved
digital environments and also maintain local literacy development targets of the Nigerian
Digital Literacy Framework (NDLF).
The use case has supported girls’ campaign in rights use initiatives in challenge-based learning
(CBL) for rights advocacy for girls in the regions as adopted in the CIENNA Challenge of Digital
Promise, where girls’ rights were canvassed with
GENAI NFTs of Students creative artworks, which supports gender rights and promotion of
girl’s rights. (See student created blog link with their AI outputs for gender rights awareness
and digital inclusion) [11]
The use of GenAI tools innovatively in EdTech integration to learning has seen digitally unserved
regions exposed to evidenced based practice that supports educational learning infrastructures
with the addition of these GENAI in the learning ecosystem and support internet/computer
device support for STEM learning in local unserved digital schools
Finally, the workflows in art creation and digital STEM applications have been used in remote
places and communities has seen that AI can drive ubiquitous learning opportunities to
disadvantages learners and communities in supporting SDG 10.0 in reducing inequalities
• Community Youth Volunteers: Local facilitation and student engagement
23 Future Work
• Expand to more schools across northern Nigeria (see approval letters further training in
schools)
• Develop local language voice-to-text AI translations for art storytelling to support for rural
student that have challenges in language literacy and use of English instructions in AI use
case
• Open-source creative outputs and training data
• Strengthen partnerships with global AI initiatives
3 Use Case Requirements
• REQ-01: It is critical that we have access to internet-enabled devices for running AI tools
• REQ-02: It is critical that we have consent and ethical data handling policies for student-
generated content
• REQ-03: It is critical that we have integration of AI interfaces with low-bandwidth usability
• REQ-04: It is critical that we have visual and audio output rendering systems
