Pillar 3 – Tunnelling the Citiverse

Pillar 3 – Tunnelling the Citiverse builds the global community around the citiverse. It creates pathways for meaningful collaboration among city leaders, innovators, academia, and industry—transforming ideas into action and seeding a movement of shared learning and co-creation.
Through four tracks, this pillar fosters a vibrant ecosystem for knowledge exchange, innovation challenges, city networks, and talent development—ensuring broad participation and equity in shaping the future of AI-powered virtual worlds.
Track 12
Citiverse Assembly
An annual meeting of Initiative members to review progress, share insights, and plan future activities.
Track 13
This challenge invites developers, universities and other academic and research institutes to build their own citiverse demonstrations in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Challenge also connects participants (students and professionals), with industry and academia solving real-world problems. Winners can be given prizes donated by potential sponsors of the Initiative.
Track 14
The Citiverse Alliance would be a dedicated space exclusively for cities and their communities within the Global Initiative on AI and Virtual Worlds. It brings together mayors, municipal leaders, local communities, and city-level digital innovation teams to strategically align, exchange priorities, build partnerships, and co-develop immersive solutions for the future of public service delivery, local governance, and digital economies. The Alliance provides a trusted environment for collaboration and collective action, ensuring that city- and community-led innovation is at the forefront of shaping inclusive, human-centred virtual futures.
Track 6
This track organizes a set of regular events including forums and webinars that educate stakeholders about leveraging emerging technologies, such as AR, VR and AI to deliver on opportunities between the virtual and real-worlds, relevant best practices, and successful case studies contributing to lay the foundation for the citiverse. By disseminating relevant knowledge, the Initiative provides trainings that empowers cities and communities to make informed decisions.
Track 10
This Toolkit comprises a set of living digital resources and tools on virtual worlds with a particular focus on the citiverse to revolutionize and enhance our global understanding of this concept. It empowers urban leaders to design dynamic citiverses, offering experiential learning experiences, and opportunities for collaboration.
Track 11
A special annual training is expected to be delivered during the Annual Assembly to invited representatives from cities and governments. This training shall encompass the main elements of the evolving citiverse landscape along with featuring real-life examples from around the world.
Track 15
Travel grants will be provided to experts from developing countries to attend the Annual Training and Annual Assembly. About 10-15 fellowships will be provided worldwide.
