Summary: This Recommendation provides signalling procedure for calling line identification presentation. It provides service description, operation requirements and coding requirements of CLIP. It also contains the signalling requirements for originating local exchange, transit exchange, international gateway exchange and destination exchange. Interaction with other supplement services, interaction with other network and dynamic description are included as well. Amendment 1 provides the following updates: - added clause 1 "Scope"; - added clause 2 "References"; - correction on references of ITU-T I.251.3 and ITU-T Q.763; - divided operation of actions at the originating local exchange into two cases: the originating local exchange connects to calling user via an access signalling system (clause 3.5.2.1.1), the originating local exchange connects to the calling user via signalling system No.7 (clause 3.5.2.1.2). - added requirements of normal operation for the local exchange which connects to the calling user via signalling system No.7 (clause 3.5.2.1.2); - changed name of Table 3-1 to "Calling party number, codepoints for calling user connecting via an access signalling system" - added table of "Calling party number, codepoints of calling user connecting via SS No.7" (table 3-2).
