Summary: Recommendation ITU-T X.th3 specifies two aspects of telebiometrics related to safety, security, privacy and anonymity. One is the set of messages, with authentication and integrity and privacy (specified using ASN.1) that provide the telebiometric communications between an operator and a remote telemedicine device. The other is the tables of physiological quantities and units and their thresholds that define the thresholds for safety of a human being when various sensors or actions are being applied to the human body. This Recommendation uses the framework defined in ITU-T X.1081 for optimal safety and security in telebiometrics. It is applicable to both chemistry and biometrics (the measurement of physiological, biological, and behavioural characteristics to the field of chemistry). A taxonomy of wetware and hardware/software interactions is defined. Thresholds are specified using the set of International System of Quantities (ISQ) and the related International System of Units (SI).
