Summary: A distributed network is a network architecture where core functionalities, such as control, user and data planes, are decentralized and executed collaboratively across multiple locations, including central and edge sites. Distributed network has the potential to alleviate some of the critical challenges faced by Developing Countries, including limited infrastructure, high deployment costs, and energy constraints. This Supplement specifies the description, use cases, considerations, network enhancements and security considerations of distributed network for IMT-2020 and beyond, in the context of Developing Countries.
