Summary:

This draft Recommendation will set the framework for interoperability to ensure that different building systems can communicate with smart city functionalities. It will enable the seamless integration of smart buildings with broader smart city infrastructure. This draft Recommendation will provide guidelines for data exchange, communication protocols and system interfaces, allowing smart buildings to connect with transportation systems, utilities, emergency services, and other city-level services. By developing this draft Recommendation, cities can benefit from a harmonized approach to smart building implementation and advance the adoption of smart technology in the urban environment.
