Supplement 72 to ITU-T G-series Recommendations provides supplemental information to Recommendation ITU T G.876, Management requirements and information model for the optical media network and Recommendation ITU-T G.7711/Y.1702, Generic protocol-neutral information model for transport resources. It provides various examples of the use of the core information model, defined in Recommendation ITU-T G.7711/Y.1702 to model optical media structures.
The revision (2025) to Supplement 72 updates the descriptions of point to point media channels, adds tree topology and mesh topology implemented with couplers cases for multi-pointed media channels.
