This technical report addresses ultra-high-precision optical clocks and their networking which are expected to allow unprecedented accuracy and stable performance compared to currently available cesium-based atomic microwave clocks, as the International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM) plans to redefine the second in the International System of Units (SI) using optical clocks.
