Summary:
|
Function as a Service (FaaS) is a cloud service category in which the capability provided to the cloud service customer (CSC) is the execution of CSC’s application code, in the form of one or more functions that are each triggered by a CSC specified event. This draft Recommendation provides the overview of FaaS, including the introduction to FaaS, key advantages of FaaS, logical components of FaaS, full lifecycle of function in FaaS, and relationship between FaaS and conventional cloud computing services. The detailed functional requirements of FaaS are also derived from use cases.
