Summary:

This Supplement provides a framework for addressing synchronization aspects in data centres. These may be further developed as part of existing Recommendations or addressed in new Recommendations.
Following aspects are in the scope of this document:
Use cases and related requirements for synchronization in data centres
Basic Principles, concepts, metrics
End to end network requirements for the delivery of sync in data centres
HRMs and network limits for relevant applications
PTP profile or use of a new protocol (e.g., P1588.1)
Resiliency and security
Clocks (possible new class and new interfaces if needed)
Testing guidelines
