Summary:

This proposal proposes to initiate a new work item on functional architecture of Internet of Things (IoT) based underground smart parking services (SUPS). This contribution discusses the important role of SUPS in urban traffic management. SUPS is based on IoT technology and its functional architecture is divided into four layers: device, network, support, and application, aiming to provide information services for both people and vehicles in underground parking lots to enhance user experience and management efficiency.
