Summary: Managing the lifecycle of slices has recently caught much attention as well as constructing network slices, especially the agility and flexibility in resource allocation to network slices becomes a necessity for rapid service delivery especially to those network slice customers. This draft Recommendation describes scalable service management and orchestration framework where the middle layer named 'Resource Pool', intensively stores a variety of virtual resources collected from the underlying infrastructure layer and the network slice instances which are created from the reserved resources based on the network slice service demand forecast for network slice customers , plays an important role of scalable network slice service management and orchestration. The proposed approach is generic and thus applicable to all network infrastructure provider, network slice provider, network slice service provider, and network slice service customer.
