Un service personnalisé de télévision par les réseaux IP (TVIP) est un exemple de traitement d'événements dans les applications. Lorsque les utilisateurs finals les y autorisent, les fournisseurs de service peuvent leur fournir des services personnalisés tels que des recommandations de contenu, des interfaces utilisateur personnalisées, des publicités ciblées et certains services interactifs. La mise en œuvre de l'application peut s'appuyer sur l'architecture TVIP existante afin de contribuer à fournir les différents services personnalisés de TVIP.
La Recommandation UIT-T H.741.5 établit des prescriptions concernant les services personnalisés de TVIP et décrit des cas d'utilisation de ces services.
