‏تحدد التوصية ‎ITU-T H.644.7 ‏المعمارية الوظيفية لخدمات معالجة الوسائط. ويشمل نطاق هذه التوصية على وجه الخصوص العلاقة بين الميادين والأدوار الوظيفية والمعمارية الوظيفية والنقاط المرجعية لخدمات معالجة الوسائط.‎ وتستخدم خدمات معالجة الوسائط مجموعة من التقنيات تشمل الحوسبة السحابية والتمثيل الافتراضي لموارد الحوسبة ومعالجة صفوف العمل من أجل التحكم الدينامي وإدارة جميع أشكال الموارد الحاسوبية التي تحسن من قابلية التوسع والمرونة والتيسر.
