تصف التوصية ITU-T Y.3607 معمارية وظيفية لمصدر البيانات الضخمة BDP)). ولتوفير المعمارية الوظيفية لمصدر البيانات الضخمة، تُحدد وظائف مصدر البيانات الضخمة استناداً إلى المتطلبات الوظيفية والمكونات المنطقية المحددة في التوصية ITU-T Y.3602. وتوفر هذه التوصية أيضاً العلاقة بين المعمارية الوظيفية لمصدر البيانات الضخمة والمعمارية المرجعية للبيانات الضخمة الواردة في التوصية ITU-T Y. 3605.
