Key Insights
In April and May, the ITU-D Study Group 1 and 2 Rapporteur Group meetings were held in Geneva and online. 12 public workshops were held in conjunction with the 14 meetings, one for each question under study.
208 attendees from 54 countries participated in the Study Group 1 Rapporteur Group meetings in which 133 contributions were presented. 221 participants from 52 countries participated in the Study Group 2 Rapporteur Group meetings to discuss 124 contributions.
From 18-20 June 2024, a Regional Workshop on Increasing Consumer Awareness: Mechanisms to Promote Informed Consumer Decision Making, hosted by ANATEL, was held in Brasilia, Brazil.
In November, the third meetings of ITU-D Study Group 1 and Study Group 2 were held in Geneva and online. Two information sessions on terrestrial connectivity and fostering youth and women’s participation in the Study Group’s activities were held.
240 attendees from 65 countries participated in the Study Group 1 Rapporteur Group meetings in which 185 contributions were presented. 186 participants from 54 countries participated in the Study Group 2 Rapporteur Group meetings to discuss 125 contributions.
At the meeting, four interim deliverables were approved:
The interim deliverables will be publicly available free of charge in all official UN languages at the beginning of 2025.
All 14 study Questions also presented the draft of their output reports. These reports will be finalised for approval at the April-May 2025 meetings.
