ARB1: Sustainable digital economy through digital transformation
National Emergency Telecommunications Plans (NETP) were successfully developed for Mauritania and Libya.
Under Connect2Recover, efforts were made to advance projects in Comoros, Djibouti, and Somalia, with a focus on strengthening their emergency telecommunications capabilities.
In collaboration with United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship of Jordan was assisted in assessing the digital ecosystem with a focus on creating new jobs.
In Tunisia, the Digital for Reforms project, funded by GiZ, helped build capacities of over 200 public civil servants to boost digital transformation.
In Egypt, the first Global Digital Public Infrastructure Summit, co-organized with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and CoDevelop, bought together over 500 participants representing stakeholders from governments, private sector, international and regional organizations and academia to discuss the future of Digital Public Infrastructure as a cornerstone for digital transformation.
