AMS4: Development of enabling policy and regulatory environments to connect the unconnected through accessible and affordable telecommunications/information and communication technologies that support achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and progress towards the digital economy

ITU Policy and Economic Colloquium (IPEC-24) focused on exploring opportunities and challenges for digital transformation in the Americas Region, featuring key discussions on the role of fixed and mobile networks in promoting affordability and adoption, as well as advances in regulatory costing and pricing strategies across the region. IPEC-24 included the event 6th edition of the ITU New Technologies and Internet Colloquium (ITEC 2024).

Targeted technical assistance – including regulatory improvement support to countries in the Central American region – strengthened Member States’ capacity to enhance their telecommunication/ICT policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks, promoting sustainable development and digital transformation.
