EUR1: Digital infrastructure development

The first ever IPv6 Laboratory of Montenegro was inaugurated at the University of Montenegro in Podgorica. The opening of the Laboratory marked a significant milestone in Montenegro’s journey toward IPv6 readiness, and it will play a pivotal role in fostering innovation, capacity building, and the development of Montenegro’s digital infrastructure.

The ITU-EKIP Regional Regulatory Forum for Europe was held in Budva, Montenegro, providing an opportunity to European regulators to follow up on the GSR outcomes.

An ITU-EKIP training on IPv6 was delivered in Podgorica at the University of Montenegro for the Montenegrin Public administrations of both the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism as well as the Regulatory Agency EKIP. This training was also open for students from the University of Montenegro.

Technical assistance to Albania was provided in the field of National Broadband Mapping System; while Moldova and Georgia strengthened their capabilities in the telecommunication emergency response.

5G Techritory, powered by ITU, and co-organized by Latvia, staged Europe’s leading 5G ecosystem forum with more than 1660 participants from 77 countries with a focus on new technologies such as 5G, Metaverse, digital accessibility and others.

Technical assessment of damages to 5 broadcasting stations was provided for rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in Ukraine in line with ITU Resolution 1408.
