ITU Global CyberDrill 2025 makes an impact around the world

The ITU Global CyberDrill 2025 was co-organized with the United Arab Emirates’ Cyber Security Council (CSC) and held during the Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference (GISEC) Global 2025. It marked a major milestone in global efforts to strengthen cyber resilience through coordinated and practical collaboration.

More than 260 participants from over 130 countries took part in the ITU Global CyberDrill 2025. The event was recognised as the largest in-person Global CyberDrill by the Guiness World Records.

The CyberDrill scenarios, run by the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau and co-organized with the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT), the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) and the Global Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), enhanced cybersecurity readiness and resilience and assisted Member States in developing and implementing operational procedures to respond better to various cyber incidents at the national level.

About the ITU Global CyberDrill 2025

The ITU Global CyberDrill 2025 was open to National Cyber Security Authorities, as well as national Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs), Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) and National Computer Incident Response Teams (CIRTs). It helped strengthen international cooperation between Member States and promote knowledge sharing to foster a global culture of cybersecurity preparedness.

Over the last decade, the ITU’s Telecommunication Development Bureau has organized 55 global, regional and national CyberDrills in collaboration with over 160 countries around the world, fostering cybersecurity capacity and capability through regional collaboration and cooperation.
