Global DTC Workshop 2024: Accelerating digital skills development
Hear from the participants of the Global Digital Transformation Centers (DTC) workshop held in Bali, Indonesia, in May.
There was buzz of activity as representatives and partners of the DTCs Initiative gathered in Bali to meet, exchange ideas and lessons learned from their experiences in rolling out basic and intermediate digital skills trainings and other capacity development interventions for underserved communities.

Throughout the event, DTC focal points shared their operating models and their approaches to community outreach with each other. They highlighted how the utilization of the resources and opportunities offered through the DTC Initiative has helped them scale their capacity development programmes and create significant impact on the ground—particularly for underserved communities and marginalized groups—and helped them acquire fresh approaches to promote digital transformation through digital skills training in their local contexts.
Through networking opportunities, poster sessions and small group discussions along with deep-dive consultation sessions with ITU, Cisco and DTCI partners, participants deepened their knowledge and renewed their commitment to digital transformation.

The workshop was organized by the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau and Cisco and hosted by the ICT Training Centre under the Human Resources Development Agency of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia, in partnership with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison.
About the Digital Transformation Centres (DTC)
The Digital Transformation Centres (DTC) Initiative was launched in September 2019 by ITU in partnership with Cisco with the objective of supporting countries to strengthen digital capacities of citizens, particularly in the underserved communities. The selected DTCs become part of a global network of institutions to accelerate the uptake of digital technologies among citizens and boost the capacity of young entrepreneurs and SMEs to succeed in the digital economy.
