Consultation with Youth in the lead up to SDG Digital

“How can we rescue the SDGs with data and digital?”

Young people (18-29 years old) are invited to contribute their thoughts and ideas for the consultation (survey) in the lead up to SDG Digital on 17 September. The results of this consultation will contribute to a  message from the youth and will be presented on the day itself to delegates attending the UN General Assembly and other participants, including international organizations, the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development and UN system agencies, development organizations, private-sector stakeholders, civil society, youth and academic leaders.

Some inputs will also be featured in the SDG Digital Rescue Plan which will be launched at the SDG Digital (September 17). This document will provide further knowledge, inspiration, and guidance around leveraging data and digital for the SDGs. Selected quotes from young people will also be featured in the SDG Digital Rescue Plan.

The voice of youth is an important element of the process. The youth have the energy, creativity, knowledge, and passion to drive positive change and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.

We invite all young innovators, solution providers, entrepreneurs, students, advocates, partners, policy makers and all others interested to provide their feedback on how to advance the SDGs, share their perspective on the power of digital to progress on the SDGs, and experiences in deploying digital for the global good.

The questions in the survey are as follows:

  1. What game-changing use-cases have you come across that you think should be scaled immediately to rescue the SDGs? (some ideas of game-changing use-cases: innovations in big data, AI, IoT, cloud computing, blockchain, virtual and augmented reality and more).
  2. In your opinion, which emerging digital innovations will have the potential to significantly boost SDG progress? And how?
  3. What expectations do you have of decision-makers from public, private and social sectors to enable and promote digital solutions for the SDGs?
  4. Where do you see immediate action required from decision-makers on SDG progress?

The survey will run until 10 August 2023. It should not take more than 10 minutes to complete.

Prior to responding, please read the terms and conditions here, which you will need to accept to complete the survey.

We also invite young people to promote this consultation within their network.
